Best Places to Learn to Code For Free in 2022

Do the costs of coding lessons stop you from wanting to learn how to code? If you think computer science and learning to code might be your thing but aren’t ready to invest money in the required education or courses, then this article is for you.

Everything is, after all, accessible via the internet, and in my opinion, you shouldn’t be required to pay for education if it is freely available. To add to that, course sellers nowadays sell dreams instead of content that is worth the price. It’s absurd how students get lured into crappy courses and regret it later as they not only wasted their money but time – which IMO is the most precious thing when you’re learning how to code.

If you want to genuinely master coding skills, you’ll eventually want to register in a more in-depth coding course or class. It is entirely up to you whether something is free or not. Almost any language may be learned and mastered with the help of the wealth of free web resources. freeCodeCamp is the OG, ngl.

Many individuals, like myself, are occasionally drawn to paid courses because they allow you to escape “tutorial hell” and receive extremely clear direction.

However, this is only applicable to a very small number of available courses.

I would never advise enrolling in a Bootcamp that takes insane fees while promising you a salary of “x” amount.

Simply put, they are selling you dreams, which is wholly incorrect in my opinion.

Let’s start looking for free materials right away –

#1 Community classroom (commclassroom.org)

One of the most fantastic places to learn Java (DSA) and DevOps is here. In general, Kunal Kushwaha, the creator of Community Classroom, has taught me a lot about both. It’s his YouTube channel that has great content which is too good to be free lol.

It’s also great to see that they recently redesigned their website with Roadmaps and intend to provide more courses soon. You don’t have to worry about anything because everything is free.

#2 Codeacademy (codecademy.com)

This website offers both paid and free courses. Because they have free ones for the fundamentals of practically any language, I would only suggest the free ones. It’s a great platform since it allows you to experiment and build your own code in the environment that they’ve created. If you really want to get the PAID version here, visit the website once or twice and search about it on Google a few times. Maybe Facebook. You’ll start getting ads to buy the course and there, you usually see a discount.

#3 FreeCodeCamp (freecodecamp.org)

This is undoubtedly one of the most well-liked free platforms for learning to code, and it has every right to be so.

For nearly everything, they offer VERY comprehensive courses. They have everything from Python to web design. Congratulations to them; it’s one of the dependable and timeless platforms.

You see excellently capable teachers make REALLY long but worthy courses and once you get the hang of watching long tutorials, there’s no going back.

#4 Khan Academy (khancademy.org)

In the United States, Salman Khan established the non-profit Khan Academy in 2008. Its goal is to create a collection of online tools to support student education. It offers some pretty great free courses, however, they seem to me to be more academic in nature. But it’s a fantastic platform. They are definitely advised.

If you’re maybe a college student then it’s even better.

Fun fact: Elon Musk has invested in the platform.

#5 W3Schools (w3schools.com)

W3Schools is one of the biggest and oldest online learning site. It’s incredibly helpful if you want to refresh your knowledge about contemporary education.

With the help of W3Schools, which is FULL of references and examples, you can always keep up to date on coding and technology. Additionally, they have an incredibly extensive library of video tutorials.

You may gain a lot of knowledge from this platform if you’re just getting started. Whether you choose HTML & CSS, Javascript, PHP, Python, Java, or any of the many other languages provided, you will be coding in no time.

It has an integrated coding interface platform.
